Are You Experiencing The Discomfort Before An Awakening?

Only three weeks until Spring. But for many of you, it may feel like Spring is already arriving.

Have you noticed the trees already flowering, the squirrels racing? Even the birds seem to be out in numbers; busy, even though it’s still cold and wet. My back yard is dotted with the color of tulips and daffodils. My walks are fragrant with the scents of early bloomers.

And like the plants and other animals, we can often feel the stirrings of new energies as the days grow longer and the sun brighter.

But before we begin bouncing our of bed in the morning, often can arise an odd discontent, nervousness, or irritation.

“Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.” ~ Arnold Bennett

If you’re suffering from some miscellaneous discomfort and you can’t really put a finger on it, you may be experiencing an awareness of a coming change.

This can be confusing; feelings you don’t like, not quite syncing up with other people, things not going as planned. What’s going on here?

This is normal. Part of the change process is the falling apart before the rearranging and renewal.

Here’s how to get a jump on things, and ease your way through the change process.

1. Take good care of your body.

There’s a reason many healers recommend a cleanse in the Spring. It’s not quite time yet, but you can still be ramping up, making sure that what you put in your body is full of nutrition and energy.

Find ways to move that feel good, help keep you flexible and strong.

Get plenty of the 5 Rs of True Rest; rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, recreation and renewal. Make sure you get all the sleep your body needs. This is a time for renewing your physical body and you can’t do that without enough sleep.

2. Practice (Self) Compassion and Patience

I understand how it can be challenging to do so, especially when something feels odd or wrong. We all have a tendency to react with fight, flight or freeze; or the modern equivalents, work, escape, or suppress.

What would happen if you treated yourself with the love and care you did a beloved child or pet?

3. Find Ways to Fit In Those Qualities You Most Want

If you long for fun, find a way to fit a fun activity into your schedule. If it’s adventure, love, or peace, how could you create a little experience of that for yourself this week.

When we don’t wait for things on the outside to reflect what we want, but we find a way to allow ourselves to have it now, more follows. And it makes transitioning through the changes to flow a bit more easily and smoothly.

Let’s check in, shall we, in just a few weeks and see if, with a good amount of care for your body, heart and good mind, your world hasn’t seemed to shift to welcome in the beauty and growing light that the seasons reflect as well?

“Some men give up their designs when they have almost reached the goal; while others, on the contrary, obtain a victory by exerting, at the last moment, more vigorous efforts than before.”
